Geography

Rotha is located northwest of Sanger Hausen in the Harz mountains.

A central building in Rotha is the 17th- century Church of the protestant church " St. Nicholas on the Schlossberg ".

History

The first mention was made in 1347 as Red.

By 2005, Rotha was a politically independent community consisting of the main town Rotha and the small settlement Paßbruch. On 1 October 2005, it was incorporated into Sangerhausen.

The Federal Highway Highway 38 by Halle ( Saale) leads to Göttingen is located south of Rotha.
