Rotuma Group

The Rotuma Islands are a small South Pacific island group forming the dependent territory of the State of Fiji Rotuma. They consist of about nine wooded islands of volcanic origin.

Geography

The island group is located approximately 570 km north of the island of Viti Levu, include, among others following islands:

  • Rotuma, the main island of the group
  • Uea
  • Solkope
  • Solnohu
  • Hatana

Only the main island ( Rotuma ) is inhabited. The other islands of the group are either directly in the fringing reef of Rotuma Iceland (eg Solkope ) or only a few kilometers north-west (eg Uea ).
