Viti Levu

Viti Levu [ βitʃi leβu ] is the 10,531 -square-kilometer main island of the Fiji group in the South Pacific.

The island is of volcanic origin and extends from north to south and about 106 from east to west around 146 kilometers. Together with the 5516 square kilometers, about 70 kilometers north of nearest neighbor island of Vanua Levu it takes nearly 90 % of the land area of ​​the Republic of the Fiji Islands. Its capital city, Suva is the largest city in Viti Levu. Other large cities are Ba, Lautoka, Nausori, Rakiraki, Sigatoka and Nadi, which has an international airport.
