Route 96 (Iceland)

The Suðurfjarðavegur performs a part of the East Fjords of Iceland.

The road 96 leads from place Reyðarfjörður through the tunnel Fáskrúðsfjarðargöng to place Fáskrúðsfjörður, then to the Stöðvarfjörður and rejoins the ring road at Breiddalsvík. Before the tunnel was completed, was the Suðurfjarðavegur along the coast. This route is now the Vattarnesvegur, the road 955, and mostly paved.

96 The road is 63 km long and all along the line paved unlike the ring road in this part of the country.
