Rovana Plumb

Rovana Plumb ( born June 22, 1960 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian politician of the Social Democrat Partidul.

Life

Plumb studied various economic issues in several international institutions. It rose in 1984 as an engineer trainee, 1992, she was Director of Trade SC Miraj SA. From 1995 to 2000 she was chairman of the SC Gerovital Cosmetics SA.

Plumb joined the PSD, then PDSR 1994. There, she served on the National Council and the Coordinating Committee, was chairman of the women's organization, as well as deputy chairman of the PSD. From 2001 to 2004 she worked as a Secretary for the Romanian government and in that time also chairman of the State Authority for Consumer Protection. From 2004 to 2007 she was a member of the Romanian Parliament. In 2009 she was elected to the European Parliament. On May 6, 2012, she put her down mandate, however, after she was appointed Minister for Forestry and Environment in the Cabinet Ponta.
