Roy Hesketh

Roy O. Hesketh ( born 1915 in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, † September 19, 1944 in Great Bitter Lake, Egypt) was a South African motorcycle and automobile racing driver and officer.

Lieutenant Roy Hesketh died in World War II in an aircraft collision in Egypt. According to him the 1953 international race track opened Roy Hesketh Circuit was named in Pietermaritzburg.

He has been buried in a military cemetery in Fayed (Egypt).
