Royal Dragoon Guards

The Royal Dragoon Guards (RDG ) is a cavalry regiment of the British Army, which was created in 1992 by merging the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards and the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards. The regiment has its base in Catterick, North Yorkshire. The Royal Dragoon Guards were active in both Iraq and Afghanistan. The soldiers of the regiment come from the north of England and Ireland, but chiefly from Yorkshire.
