Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club

The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, Chinese :香港 游艇 会) is a traditional Yacht Club in Hong Kong with a sail and a rudder Department.

The club was founded in 1890 as Hong Kong Corinthian Sailing Club in 1894 and renamed with the permission of the Admiralty to the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. He is one of the few institutions that have retained the word Royal, even after the return of Hong Kong to the People's Republic of China in 1997 her name.

The clubhouse is located at Victoria Harbour on Kellett Iceland. Thither the Yacht Club in 1938 had moved. Previously a brick building at the corner of Oil Street and Electric Road, North Point was used as a clubhouse, which opened in 1908 and still exists today.

The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club is " proud of its rich and diverse history that goes back over 160 years." To date, the club has retained the elitist atmosphere of the British colonial rule.
