The Royal Irish Academy (Royal Irish Academy, abbreviated RIA, Irish Acadamh na hÉireann Ríoga ) is a non-governmental Academy of Sciences in Dublin in Ireland. She is a member of the All European Academies and was built in 1785 set up. The Academy currently has around 420 members and aims to support research and learning in science. One such means is the formation of national committees on specific subject areas, so as to create a strategic discussion forum. Honorary Member may be, who has achieved excellence in his field. An elected membership is also possible. For this purpose, the person must be resident in Ireland and 5 members of the Academy agree to the admission.
