Royal Marechaussee

The Koninklijke marechaussee is entrusted as a Dutch police with far-reaching tasks. Since 1998 she has been an independent strike force in addition the Army, Navy and Air Force.

Tasks

The marechaussee under the Ministry of Defence and has combatant status, but primarily fulfills civilian tasks such as monitoring the state border and since the abolition of the National Police and the police service at major airports such as Schiphol. History

Marechaussee was founded by the decree of 26 October 1814 by King William I.
