Różanka, Lower Silesian Voivodeship

Różanka ( German Rosenthal ) is a village in the Polish powiat Kłodzki in Lower Silesia. It belongs to the urban and rural community Międzylesie.

Geography

Różanka is located six kilometers north-west of Międzylesie on the edge of Habelschwerdter Mountains. Neighboring towns are Długopole Górne in the north, and Domaszków Roztoki in the northeast, and Nagodzice Międzylesie the southeast and Gniewoszów in the northwest, where there is also the ruins of the Castle Szczerba.

History

Rosenthal was laid out as a series of village and was first mentioned in 1358. It probably belonged to the castle buckles stone and fell after its destruction by the Hussites in 1428 as a completed fief to the sovereign back. As Kammersdorf it was purchased in 1684 by Glatzer Governor Michael Wenzel of Althann. Then it became the capital of the rule buckles stone, which was therefore also called " rule Rosenthal ". After the Silesian Wars Rosenthal came together with the county of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg to Prussia. After also Rosenthaler Freirichtergut was acquired in 1796 from the reign Erbherrn buckles Stone, Rosenthal was all under one owner. For 1804 are shown: a parish church, a rectory, a school building, a brewery, 31 farmers and 78 gardeners and cottagers.

In the 18th century, Rosenthal was a center of the linen industry, which was sponsored by King Frederick II. After the reorganization of Prussia Rosenthal belonged since 1815 to the province of Silesia and was first incorporated into the county of Glatz. 1818 was reclassified in the county Habelschwerdt to which it belonged until 1945. 1874 District Rosenthal was formed, which included the rural communities Freiwalde, Marienthal, Peucker, Rosenthal and side village. 1939 counted 851 inhabitants.

As a result of the Second World War Rosenthal fell in 1945 to Poland and was renamed Różanka. The German population was expelled. The newly settled inhabitants were themselves partly expellees from eastern Poland. Because of the boundary layer, many houses were left to decay. The population was thereby significantly. 1975-1998 belonged to Różanka Voivodeship Wałbrzych.

Attractions

  • The parish church of the Assumption ( Kościół Wniebowzięcia NMP) was born 1591-1661. 1755-1756, the church was rebuilt and the baroque tower. The frescoes painted in 1756 Joseph Woelfel Bartsch from the village. The altars and the pulpit created Michael Klahr this year 1895 the church received a new high altar, which was designed by the Munich architect Joseph Elsner and delivered from his workshops. He added the altar sculptures of former altar by Michael Klahr this year. The altarpiece in the Nazarene created the Regensburg painter Ronge.
  • This stone-walled gate at the entrance to the church was built in the mid 18th century and decorated with the figure of the Archangel Michael. The adjacent ossuary dating from 1613.
  • The parsonage from the 2nd half of the 18th century was the end of the 19th century neo-Gothic rebuilt. The standing nearby shrines ( Ecce Homo, St. John of Nepomuk, Mary Immaculate ) date from the 18th century.
