Rózsa Darázs

Rózsa Darázs (born 3 November 1987 in Jászberény ) is a Hungarian Shorttrackerin. In the 2006 Olympics she was flag bearer for the Hungarian team.

Their first international championship she experienced at the Junior World Championship 2003 in Budapest where she, however, the heats could not survive. In Warsaw she took only a little later in the adult area for the first time at the World Cup finals, but was also not about the prelims. In the 2003 / 04 season, she made her debut in February at the World Cup and took part in all the season highlights. Your best results were reaching the semi-finals over 1500m at the Junior World Championships and the quarterfinals over 500 m at the European Championships in The Hague.

Initial successes celebrated Darázs in the season 2005/06. In the World Cup they reached several quarter-finals over various distances. At the Junior World Cup in Miercurea Ciuc they could win in the relay as well as bronze in the European Championships in Krynica -Zdrój. Darázs qualified for the Olympic Games in Turin. There she was flag bearer of the Hungarian Olympic team at the opening ceremony. She performed in all three individual distances, but different from each in the flow. In the season 2006/ 07 Darázs reached about 1500 m for the first time a semi-final in the World Cup. In the rest of the season highlights but they could not increase.

After Darázs not part of the Hungarian World Cup team in the following season, she made in the 2008 /09 season to gain recognition. In the World Cup, it reached about 500 m and 1500 m respectively a semi-final at the European Championships in Turin, they also drew over 500 m and 1500 m the semi-finals. However, she won her biggest sporting success in the relay. With Bernadett Heidum, Andrea Keszler and Erika Huszár she became European Champion for the first time. The following season 2009/10 ran for Darázs little success in individual races. But they reached fourth place in the relay at the European Championships in Dresden and finished fifth in the team at the World Championships in Bormio but good rankings. With the Hungarian season she participated in Vancouver at their second Olympic Games. The quartet took second place in the B final and was in the final standings in fifth place. In the season 2010/11 Darázs started at four World Cups, reaching the semi-finals twice over 1500 meters. At the European Championships in Heerenveen, she won in the relay for another medal, this time she won the silver medal.

Darázs brother Péter is also a successful Shorttracker.
