RSV Göttingen 05

The I. SC Göttingen 05 is a sports club from Göttingen in Lower Saxony. It was created on 1 July 2005 by the merger of the 1st FC Göttingen 05 with the RSV Geismar. The club colors are black, yellow and green. The club offers the sports of football, badminton, gymnastics, Prellball, rugby and tennis. Sporty figurehead of the club is the football department. The first team plays since the rise in 2011 in the fünftklassigen Oberliga Niedersachsen.

History

Master clubs

The club was founded on 30 June 1905 as the Göttingen FC 05. On 4 May 1920, the club in VfR 05 Göttingen 05 was renamed before it on May 27, 1921 Name 1 SC Göttingen was 05. After the dissolution in 1945, the club was founded as SV Black-Yellow 05 Gottingen new and renamed in July 1948 again in Göttingen 1 SC 05. In 2001, the club went bankrupt. After the creditors did not agree to that proposed by Richter comparison, the association was dissolved and struck off the register of associations.

When collecting club for the youth teams of the 1st FC Göttingen was founded in 05. On 4 March 2005, this club merged with the RSV Geismar, which was founded on 15 June 1909 as FC Viktoria Geismar, for RSV Göttingen 05 The RSV Geismar cooperated since the 2000 /01 season with the first SC Göttingen 05 at youth level. Sporty came the first men's team of RSV Geismar not on the district league addition.

After the merger

The first men's team of RSV Geismar had lost after the District League relegation almost the entire team to other clubs. The first FC Göttingen 05, however, had collected a district league level club for the coming season, but would have to play as a new club in the 2nd circuit class. The boards of directors of both clubs agreed then that the Göttingen team should accrue in the 2004/05 season under the name of RSV Geismar.

On 1 July 2005, the merger was completed legally. In the very first season, the team was able to win the championship in the eight-year district Braunschweig class 4. With four points behind champions TSV Landolfshausen was achieved a year later the third place. In the following season 2007/ 08 was the master of RSV District League and rose to the Bezirksoberliga Brunswick. There, the team met for the first time on the long-standing rivals SVG 07

According to a fourth and a fifth place finally succeeded in the 2010/11 season the championship in the division now called Brunswick league. The highlight of the season was the 1-1 draw in the local derby in the SVG before 2,500 spectators. With the rise of RSV plays in the 2011/12 season in the fünftklassigen Oberliga Niedersachsen, where the team finished in 13th place in the 2011/12 season.

On September 20, 2012, the Board of RSV Göttingen 05 unanimously decided to spin off the football section of the club and from the 2013/14 season again under the name 1 SC Göttingen to lead 05. Even the old yellow-black coat of arms to replace the current black-yellow- green RSV crest again. The spin-off will take place, however, under the name of I. SC Göttingen 05.

Stadium

Since the rise in the league in 2011, the Jahn Stadium is the home of sports RSV Göttingen 05 Opened in 1913, the stadium can accommodate up to 17,000 spectators. Approximately 5,000 seats are covered. The stadium also meets the conditions for the new Regional for the season 2012/13. Previously, the club used the sports field at the Benzstraße as a home ground. Once there were complaints from residents due from the noise again and the place did not meet the requirements of the Oberliga Niedersachsen, the club decided to move to the Jahn Stadium.

Fans

The umbrella organization of the 05- fan scene form the Supporters Crew. There are also independent fan groups like the Cider Boiz, " turf sports guerrilla ," Uncle Gunther and the La Familia 05 The place of the supporters groups located on the backstretch of the Jahn stadium. After the insolvency related withdrawal of the 1st Göttingen SC 05, the followers called " fans without a club " and were rent from other clubs against reimbursement of travel costs. The fans and the team of RSV 05 campaign actively against racism and discrimination a, which also marked the fan culture.

There are friendships with the fans of VfB Oldenburg, Arminia Hannover and the Italian club Virtus Verona. Even with the fans of Altona 93 and the Red Star Leipzig is a friendly relationship. Rivalries exist with local rivals SVG Göttingen 07 and Eintracht Braunschweig. This meeting will therefore be classified as risk games.
