Ruben Gunawan

In 1982, he won the Indonesian Under-16 Championship, 1983 Asian Junior Championship in Kuala Lumpur in 1984 and the Indonesian Under-19 Championship.

For the Indonesian national team he played in the Asian Team Championships in 1987 and 1993 on the second reserve board. Indonesia occupied in 1987 in Singapore and the second in 1993 in Kuala Lumpur fifth place. On the third board he played for Indonesia at the Chess Olympiads in Istanbul in 2000 and 2004 in Calvia.
