Ruben Popa

Ruben Popa (born 22 March 1989) is a Romanian football player.

Career

At age nine, Ruben Popa trained in his Romanian homeland in youth development center of the second division UTA Arad, with twelve years he moved into the boarding school of the association. Another three years later, he joined the third division CS Naţional Sebiş. Originally it was then playing for a Romanian second division, but he went to Germany, where his father had settled in Pfaffenhofen as an independent craftsman.

Popa played one year in the county division club FC Schweitenkirchen and established contacts for SSV Jahn Regensburg. From 2009 he played for the U- 23 of the Upper Palatinate in the national league. In the first two years of strong dribbling striker scored 14 goals this season and in each case in the 2011/12 season he was first taken into account also in the third division team of the Jahn. On 13 Matchday he made ​​his professional debut when he came off the bench in a 0-1 at Preußen Münster in the closing minutes. It remained his only use for the first team, because then put him a torn ACL for the rest of the season out of action. At the end of the season the first team rose above the relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga, the U -23 qualified for the new two-pronged Bavarian League. After re- descent of Regensburg, he received a professional contract for Season 2013 / 14th
