Ruben Talberg

Ruben Talberg ( born August 24, 1964 in Heidelberg ) is a German -Israeli painter, sculptor and photographer. He lived for two years in Tel -Aviv, then in Frankfurt am Main since 2005 in Offenbach am Main. 1986 presented his first exhibition in Heidelberg.

Life and work

Talberg since 1990 is associated with substantiated by the style of the " Anti- Capitalist Abstraction", on the other hand ( at least since 1994) of the "Young Jewish Art ". As an alchemist Talberg oppositorum follows the age-old principle of alchemischem Conversio, the transformation of opposites. The Conversio as a reversal of opposites - Solid becomes liquid, Hard is soft, dark is bright He increasingly studied in the last decade with Jewish mysticism and magic. On extended trips, new photo series, which in turn are the basis for new pictorial cycles. Mystical ciphers in the form of Aramaic characters, columns of figures or voodoo symbols pervading his work and refer similar archaeological sediments on different levels of meaning.

Talberg one of the personalities of the city of Offenbach and lives and works there as well as in southern France. Images of the artist can be found also in the auction trade. In June 2011 the Talberg Museum ( TAMU ) was opened in Offenbach. For several years, there are plans for an approximately 15 -meter-high monument called Jacob's ladder, but this lack of agreement with the city of Offenbach has not yet been realized, although an anonymous sponsor exists for it.
