Rubha an Dùnain

Rubh ' at Dunain is a megalithic chamber grave of type Cotswold -Severn tomb in the Cuillin Hills on Loch Brittle, a deep bay on the west coast of the Isle of Skye in Scotland.

Near the end of the promontory south of Loch Brittle is the round cairn, far from any settlement, next to a wall that runs to the sea. He has a concave forecourt in front of the entrance leading to a gallery, which consists of three separate chambers. The BC was built in the 3rd millennium Cairn is still 3.3 m high. The chambers and the facade are well preserved. On both sides of access is the facade of upright monoliths that are associated with dry masonry. This deckle seems around the cairn to be kept running in low form, which individual stones testify. The same method was used to build the short entrance hall, a passage and the polygonal chamber. Four lintels are still in place in the ceiling of passage and antechamber. The ceiling height is increased from about 80 cm at the entrance to 1.6 m at the inner lintel. The polygonal chamber is now uncovered and visible from above. The excavation in the 1930s, the remains of five adults were, along with Neolithic pottery, flint and quartz chips and a piece of pumice found.
