The Rubicon River is a river in the middle of the Australian state of Victoria.

The river rises in the Blue Range below the Mount Margaret, flows north and empties west of Thornton in the Goulburn River.

Its most important tributary is the Royston River. At the Rubicon River and the Royston River Rubicon Hydroelectric Scheme was established in 1924, a power plant, which now delivers a power output of 13 MW.
