Rudawa, KÅ‚odzko County

Rudawa ( German chair Seiffen ) is a small tourist resort in the south of the powiat Kłodzki in the Province of Lower Silesia in Poland. It belongs to the municipality Bystrzyca Kłodzka ( Habelschwerdt ), from which it is removed ten kilometers south-west.

Geography

Rudawa located in Habelschwerdter Mountains in the upper valley of the Erlitz, which forms the border with the Czech Republic. Neighboring towns are Poręba in the east, Poniatów in the southwest and Nová Ves ( Neudorf ), Cerna Voda ( black water) and Mostowice in the northwest. North-east rises the 978 m high Heidelberg ( Jagoda ).

History

Chair Seiffen was in the last quarter of the 16th century created together with the adjacent towns Marienthal and Freiwalde on royal base by Leonhard Veldhammer, the upper Woodruff County Glatz, measured and. It was in the possession of the Royal Bohemian chamber and was probably initially referred because of an existing mine as " Stolseifen ".

Together with other chamber villages in the district Habelschwerdt acquired chair Seiffen 1684 the Glatzer Governor Michael Wenzel von Althann of the rule buckles stone formed from the village communities newly acquired whose capital Rosenthal was, so she was referred to as " rule Rosenthal ". The chair Seiffen Freirichtergut remained independent.

After the Silesian Wars chair Seiffen came together with the county of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg to Prussia. After the reorganization of Prussia belonged since 1815 to the province of Silesia and was first incorporated into the county of Glatz. 1818 was reclassified in the county Habelschwerdt to which it belonged until 1945. 1939 counted 419 inhabitants.

As a result of the Second World War was chair Seiffen 1945 as almost all of Silesia to Poland and was renamed Rudawa. The German population was expelled. The new inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland. Due to the remote border location but Rudawa left in the next decades many residents, so that it is now largely depopulated. 1975-1998 belonged to Rudawa Voivodeship Wałbrzych.

Religious affiliation

Chair Seiffen had no own church and was devoted to branch church in light wood, which belonged in turn to the parish of Upper Langenau. Around 1610, when the population almost invariably known to the Lutheran faith, light wood vicarage was to the chair and Peucker Seiffen were dedicated. After the recapture of the County of Glatz by the imperial troops in 1623 officiated in light wood, which was downgraded to the branch of Ebersdorf, in turn, a Catholic priest. Because of the great distance by Ebersdorf Peucker and chair Seiffen of light woods were released and dedicated to Filialkirche side village with which they came to the rebuilt parish Rosenthal 1665.

Church

Probably already in the building of the village, a burial ground was created, in which initially had only a belfry. With the approval of the Prague consistory was built on this place a funeral chapel of wood in 1695 and inaugurated under the title " Birth of Mary ". 1769 a church was built of stone in its place, which was restored in the early 21st century.

Economy

Among the sources of income of the village is one of tourism. At facilities a rest home with 93 beds, a 540 m long drag - lift, a tennis court and sports fields are available.
