Rudbar Lorestan Dam

The Rudbar - Lorestan Dam is an under construction dam with a large hydroelectric power plant on the river Rudbar, a tributary of the Eastern Dec, also called Bakhtiari, in the Iranian province of Lorestan. The building is located in the Zagros Mountains about 100 km away from the city Aligudarz. There a rolled concrete gravity dam.

The hydropower plant will be operational in 2013. The planned capacity of the two generators together amounts to 450 MW. It can be used a natural gradient of more than 300 m drop height.
