Rudi Vouk

Rudolf " Rudi " Vouk ( born March 19, 1965 in Klagenfurt) is an Austrian lawyer, former politician and a member of the Slovene minority in Carinthia.

At the Matura at the grammar school for Slovenes, he completed a study of law in Vienna and began to work in Carinthia as a lawyer. In particular, he championed the rights of the Carinthian Slovenes.

In the context of these political activities Vouk was elected to the Presidium of the Enotna Lista 1991. From 1997 he was a councilor in boars village. 1999 Vouk became acting chairman of the Council of Carinthian Slovenes. From 2000 to 2003 he was Chairman of the Council of Carinthian Slovenes minority day, as of 2003 the deputy chairman. In these functions, Vouk procured numerous decisions of the Constitutional Court and other instances for lawful handling of the Slovene minority in Carinthia.

Austria-wide notoriety reached Vouk in the village sign dispute in which he obtained by the Constitutional Court, a place-name of St. Kanzian to recognize as illegal because of their monolingualism.

With Vouk as the leading candidate for the LIF Carinthia in 2008 reached 1.5% of the vote in the national election.

Rudolf Vouk is married and has two daughters.
