Rüdiger Helm
Rüdiger Helm ( born October 6, 1956 in Neubrandenburg ) is a former German canoeist who won three Olympic gold medals for East Germany.
With the Summer Olympic Games in Montreal in 1976, he won bronze in the four - kayak ( K4) over 1000 m and over 500 m in one's kayak ( K1) in canoe racing. In the K1 1000m he won the gold medal.
At the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, he won about 500 m in the K4 bronze and two gold medals in the K1 1,000 m and K4 on the 1000 m.
In early 2009 he was briefly employed as national coach of the dragon boat team of the German Canoe Association.
