Rudolf Inzinger

Rudolf Inzinger ( born April 5, 1907 in Vienna, † 26 August 1980) was an Austrian mathematician.

Inzinger studied mathematics and descriptive geometry at the University and the Technical University of Vienna. In 1933 he received his doctorate at Erwin Kruppa on The Lie Figure, 1936, he habilitated. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich Rudolf Inzinger had to leave the Technical University of Vienna.

After his return from captivity Inzinger worked from 1945 at the Technical University of Vienna, where he was nominated for Mathematics in 1946 to associate professor and a year later promoted to full professor. From 1950 to 1952, Inzinger dean and in 1968/69 Rector. 1977 Rudolf Inzinger became Professor Emeritus.

In 1947 he founded the Austrian Mathematical Society new and was until 1948 the Chairman.

Inzinger mainly focused on differential geometry, the theory Convex areas and mathematical problems in the localization of sound sources.
