Rudolf Klein-Rogge

Friedrich Rudolf Klein - Rogge, (* November 24, 1885 in Cologne, † May 29 1955 in Wetzel village in Jagerberg, Austria ) was a German actor of the 1920s and 1930s.

Career

Rudolf Klein-Rogge was the son of Judge Advocate and completed while studying art history drama school of Hans Siebert. After appearances in Halberstadt, Aachen, Kiel, Dusseldorf and a long engagement at the Stadttheater in Nuremberg, he moved and his then- wife Thea von Harbou to Berlin, as they believed that they could only there to advance their careers. Initially he worked at the Lessing Theatre and also directed his own plays.

After the relationship broke up, Thea von Harbou was a new connection with Fritz Lang. She made the two know each other and made ​​sure that Klein-Rogge different roles in Lang's works received ( for example, as Dr. Mabuse). After the war Klein-Rogge tried to be committed to film roles again via the contact Fritz Lang. However, Long did not find any suitable role for him. So he tried in Graz as a theater director. Until the early fifties he directed several plays. From a stroke he suffered one night, he did not recover. He died on 29 May 1955 in Wetzel village in Jagerberg on his estate, which he had received in 1943 overwritten by his brother and which was demolished in the 80s.

Klein-Rogge was married three times: his first wife was Margaret Neff, the second Thea von Harbou, and the third Swedish actress Mary Johnson.
