Rudolf Raftl

Raftl Rudolf ( born February 7, 1911 in Vienna, † September 5, 1994 ) was an Austrian football player at the position of the keeper.

Rudolf Raftl began his professional career at Hertha Vienna in 1928. Already after one game season, however, he moved to the former champion and Mitropacupsieger SK Rapid Wien. The goalkeeper completed a total of 174 league matches for the Hütteldorfer. In 1934 and 1938 he was champion with the team. After connecting to the German Reich was followed by two more championship titles in 1940 and 1941, this time in the Ostmark after. Rapid Vienna but also played successfully for the German Cup and the German Cup. In 1938 Rudolf Raftl won the German Cup with the Green-Whites, in 1941 he was in goal in a 4-3 victory in the championship final against FC Schalke 04 in goal for the Rapidler. After the Second World War, the goalie played two seasons for the Vienna in the years 1946 to 1948.

Rudolf Raftl played a total of six caps for Austria and reached inter alia the 4th place at the World Cup 1934 in Italy. He made his debut in 1933. After Austria qualified for the World Cup 1938, you had to forego participation after connection, as the Austrian team was disbanded. Instead, had to play for the German Reich Rudolf Raftl. He completed both games at the World Cup in France in 1938 and stood until 1940 a total of six times in goal for the German national football team.
