Rudolf Ropek

Rudolf Ropek ( born October 4, 1970 in Potštejn ) is a former Czech orienteers.

Ropek started as a 19 -year-old at the first Junior World Championships in 1990 in the Swedish Älvsbyn. He came in 13th place in the individual race and to fifth place along with the Czechoslovak squadron. In 1992 his first World Cup season, 1995 his first World Championships in Detmold. 1994 and 1996 he joined the World Cup each from the total seventh. In 1997, he came at the World Championships in Norway with a ninth- Patz on the classic distance also in the top ten a. 2001 in Tampere he was ninth in the championship newly introduced sprint. The Czech squadron with Michal Horáček, Michal Jedlička, Radek Novotný and Ropek as the final runners won at the same championships bronze behind Finland and Norway. In the following 2003 World Championships in Switzerland Ropek won silver in the sprint behind the Briton Jamie Stevenson. In 2004, he launched yet in the sprint at the World Championships, but did not qualify for the finals.

Other successes celebrated Ropek in the Park World Tour, which he finished second in 1996 and 1999 and in 1997 and 1998 won.

Ropek ran for the Czech clubs VSZ Brno and Dukla Liberec.
