Rufio

Rufio is an American pop-punk band from Rancho Cucamonga, California.

History

All members of the band went to high school together. The band was formed when original bassist Jon Berry was the first year of high school and the other three members Scott Sellers (vocals, guitar), Mike Jimenez ( drums), and Clark Domae (guitar) were in their final year. Scott and Clark had known each other since early childhood, since they grew up together. Scott met bassist Jon Berry and they began to play together and recording demos. After Berry and Scott began recording demos, they asked Mike to play drums for them. Shortly after the recording of Mike Clark joined the band. The band got its name from the character Rufio, the leader of the Lost Boys in Peter Pan -inspired movie Hook.

Rufio released their debut album Perhaps, I Suppose ... 2001 under the label The Militia Group. The second album MCMLXXXV, which was released in June 2003 on Nitro Records, created with the help of producer Nick Rasculinecz, who has already worked with the Foo Fighters and Rancid. The third album The Comfort of Home was released in July 2005.

The band broke up in 2006. The Punk76.com magazine refers to a telephone conversation with the owner of indie label The Militia Group and announces that Rufio have reunited and are planning a new album for 2009.

On 14 January 2010 the new EP The Loneliest Jr. appeared with a new cast, Terry Stirling on drums and Taylor Albaugh on bass.

On 27 July 2010, the album Anybody Out There appeared.
