Rui Marques

Manuel Rui Marques ( born September 3, 1977 in Luanda, Angola ), known as Rui Marques, is an Angolan football player. In addition to the Angolan he also possesses the Portuguese citizenship.

Rui Marques stood since 2005 at Leeds United in England under contract, where he was also borrowed from there shortly in March 2006 to the end of the season at Hull City. His contract was not renewed in Leeds in the summer of 2010. Since then, he is without a club. In November 2010, he completed a trial with South African first division club SuperSport United. He is regarded as the player with the largest international experience in rows of the Angolan national team through his many years of operations in the European leagues. In this he has, however, played just three matches on 21 June 2006.

He and his team could for the first time to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany. This meant the greatest success in the sports history of the African country.
