Ruine Diepoldsburg

The ruin Diepoldsberg castle is a double castle, also known from the Upper Castle and the Lower Diepoldsberg Diepoldsberg castle, castle also Rauber, there. History

The castle to have been built by the Knights of Diepholdsburg around 1210, a " Ulrich de Diepoltsburc " 1215 is documented as owner. In the 16th century, the castle has fallen, and from 1964 to 1965 the surrounding walls have been restored. The middle name Rauber got the castle because of their use as robber barons.

Upper Diepoldsberg Castle
