Rumoi Subprefecture

Rumoi (Japanese留 萌 振兴 局, Rumoi - Shinko - kyoku ) is a sub-prefecture of Hokkaido Prefecture. It has an area of ​​4019.97 km ² and a population of 61 488 (as of 2005).

History

1897, the sub-prefecture was Mashike (増 毛 支 庁, Mashike - shicho ) was established with headquarters in Mashike. 1914, the county seat was moved to Rumoi and sub-prefecture in sub-prefecture Rumoi (留 萌 支 庁, Rumoi - shicho ) renamed.
