Rúnar Kárason (born 24 May 1988 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic handball player. The left-hander plays mostly at right back room, who plays for German Bundesliga side TSV Hannover -Burgdorf since the 2013/14 season.

Rúnar Kárason he played since the age of six at the Icelandic club Fram Reykjavík. From there he went in 2009 in the Handball - Bundesliga to the foxes Berlin.
