Runowo, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Runowo ( German Ruhnow ) is a place in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the urban and rural commune ( gmina ) Węgorzyno ( Wangerin ) in a circle Łobez ( Labes ).

Geographical location

The former estate village Runowo ( the local name that comes to Poland before nine, also still in combinations such as Runowo Pomorskie) is located four kilometers northwest of the city Węgorzyno ( Wangerin ). Until the county seat Łobez ( Labes ) there are twelve kilometers. The Polish national road DK 20 ( former German Empire Road 158) from Stargard ( Stargard in Pomerania ) to Gdynia ( Gdynia ) can be reached via Węgorzyno and the Runowo Pomorskie station is connected to the railway line Chojnice Runowo - Pomorskie.

History

By 1945 Ruhnow was a place in the district of Pommern (location: Labes ) in the district of the Prussian province of Pomerania Pomerania. The place was the headquarters for the rural communities and estate districts Blankenhagen (now Polish: Dłusko ) Dorotheenthal ( Sarnikierz ), beep floor ( Podlipce ) Polchow ( Połchowo ) Ruhnow, Wangerin B and Winningen ( Winiki ).

In 1910 567 residents were registered in Ruhnow. In 1933 there were 522 and in 1939 489

During the construction of the railway line from Stargard in Pomerania Gdansk originally Wangerin should stop. But the cheek Riner refused. So Ruhnow received the station, which later was also connected to the railway line from Konitz after Ruhnow. However, this line was a separate station in Wangerin.

Ruhnow had developed in this way to a small transportation hub, which also attracted many workers and so residents in the village. Ruhnow Station has a separate living area with almost as many inhabitants as the place itself

As after 1945 Ruhnow was transferred under the name Runowo to Poland, told you the place in two separate districts: Runowo and Runowo Pomorskie ( also the name of the station ). Each day is a separate " mayor's office " ( sołectwo ) within the Gmina Węgorzyno in powiat Lobeski in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship ( 1975-1998 Voivodeship Szczecin ).

Church

Parish

Before 1945, the population of Ruhnow predominantly Protestant denomination was. The village with its old stone church was the seat of the rectory for the parish church in the county Ruhnow Freiwalde (now Polish: Chociwel ) Ostsprengel in the ecclesiastical province of the Church of the Old Prussian Pomerania Union. For this, in 1940 a total of 1582 members of the congregation counted parish communities Winningen the store ( Winniki ) Blankenhagen ( Dłusko ) and Dorotheenthal included ( Sarnikierz ). The Ruhnower village Ruhnow Station incidentally was the parish in the parish Wangerin.

Since 1945, the new population of Runowo predominantly Catholic denomination. The Protestant church was confiscated by the Catholic Church and is now parish church in the deanery Łobez in the Archdiocese of Szczecin - Pomerania of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here surviving Protestant church members belong to the distant Trinity Church in Stettin in the diocese of Breslau Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.
