RuPaul's Drag Race
RuPaul 's Drag Race is an American reality show. It documents RuPauls search for " America's next drag superstar ."
The show got the green light in May 2008, and MTV Networks presented to the press before the show. The premiere took place on 2 February 2009 on the cable TV channel logo.
Format
RuPaul plays a dual role in the show. USA Today 's Lifeline describes it, " RuPaul, the drag queen, is in the decisions and eliminations have the final word, while RuPaul, the man, the candidate support in the " offering Challenges ". Fashion journalist Merle Ginsberg and Santino Rice designers were part of the main jury of the first two seasons. From the third season Merle was replaced by Michelle Visage, who had previously worked with RuPaul as these other projects would bestow. Together with famous guest judges such as La Toya Jackson, Chloë Sevigny, Dita Von Teese, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Pamela Anderson and Johnny Weir, RuPaul support in the decisions.
In each case a candidate is determined in each season by a vote on the official homepage of the spectators.
The first season was a great success for the three -year-old station logo. The number of visitors to the official website for the show broke all records. A second season was filmed in late 2009. The auditions began on 1 May 2009. Season two runs from 2 February 2010 to April 26, 2010 again on Logo and VH1. The auditions for a third season began on March 29, 2010.
In Canada broadcast from February 15, 2009 took place on the transmitter Much More Music. A further broadcast took place on the VH1, each by 21 clock, which, however, was not advertised due to contractual obligations with logo.
