Russell Island (Nunavut)

Russell Iceland is an uninhabited island in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of the Canadian territory of Nunavut. It is located in the Barrow Strait. It is separated by the narrow Baring Channel from the north coast of Prince of Wales Iceland.

The island has an area of 940 km ². The highest elevation of the island reaches 248 m. The western third of the island is separated from the remaining two thirds by a small lake and its outflow. At the north end of the lake is a mere 1.1 km wide isthmus.

William Edward Parry discovered the island in 1819.
