Russell Kun

Russell Effaney Kun is a nauruischer politician and former weightlifter. He is the nephew of Reuben Kun.

In the last parliamentary elections on 3 May 2003, he was elected for the constituency Ubenide in the Nauruan Parliament. Kun was under Ludwig Scotty Minister of Justice in its first term of office and returned under René Harris in February 2004 returned to this office. Even after the presidential takeover by Scotty Kun was at first Minister of Justice and was also Speaker of Parliament.

Scotty suspended him in October 2004, but by that office. Kun feared by this suspension and the dissolution of Parliament political anarchy with Scotty as a single government. In the election on 23 October 2004 Kun lost his seat in Parliament. In November 2004, he subsequently demanded by legal means his fee, which to him as Speaker of Parliament nor states. State employees are paid but for years only partially or not at all.

2006, a report was published on irregularities in the sale of passports between 1997 and 2000 by the Parliament, in which presumably also Kun, former justice minister, to have enriched unjustly. Kun lives in the Marshall Islands, where he works as a public defender. Kun is one of the public advocates of Pacific Solution.
