Rustaveli (Tbilisi Metro)

Rustaveli is a station of the Metro Tbilisi, which is used by the Achmetelis - Theatres - Warketeli line. The architects of the station called O. Kalandarischwili and L. Dschanelidse.

The station was opened on 11 January 1966, was originally endpoint of that Didube - Rustaveli line. Was named the station after Shota Rustaveli and the lying at the station Rustaveli Gamsiri. Rustaveli is 120 m in length, the longest escalators throughout the Metro Tbilisi and with depth 60 m is also the deepest station. Rustaveli is between Tawisuplebis Moedani and Marjanishvili. The station is to be connected by means of a transition station also at the Rustaveli Wazisubani line.
