Ruth Wilson (actress)
Ruth Wilson ( born January 13, 1982 in Ashford, Kent) is a British actress.
Life and career
Ruth Wilson was born in 1982 in Ashford in Kent, situated south-east of London. She grew up with three older brothers in Shepperton. She attended Notre Dame School and Esher College. As a teenager, she began working as a model, but then studied history at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2003. During her studies at Nottingham she was also skilled in drama at New Theatre Nottingham enrolled. Her acting studies at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, she finished in 2005.
Her film debut was Ruth Wilson also made in 2005 in the television series Suburban Shootout. The title role in the television miniseries Jane Eyre has gained a greater awareness and nominations for Best Actress BAFTA Award in 2007 and a Golden Globe. In German-speaking she became known for her role as Alice Morgan in the ZDF broadcast on the BBC detective series Luther. In the director Joe Wright in 2012 staged remake of Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, it embodies the Princess Betsy.
Ruth Wilson is the granddaughter of the writer and MI6 officer Alexander Wilson. She is co-founder of Hush Productions.
