Rutina Wesley

Rutina Wesley ( born February 1, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada ) is an American actress. She became known for her role as Tara Thornton in the television series True Blood.

Life

Wesley was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and grew up there. Her parents are Cassandra Wesley, who worked as a showgirl, and Ivery Wheeler, a professional tap dancer. The age of seven, she appeared in a performance of the musical with The Golden Rainbow, which led according to their own statements to the decision to become an actress.
