Rutland and Whitehall Railroad

The Rutland and Whitehall Railroad was a railroad in Vermont ( United States). It was founded on November 9, 1831, but initially did not begin with the construction. On November 14, 1848, the establishment was closed again and the company now built a standard gauge railway line, which was the eastern continuation of the construction in progress Washington Railroad in the state of Vermont. The total distance from Whitehall to Castleton went on 1 October 1850 in operation. Only the lying in Vermont 11 km long section of the line was owned by the Rutland & Whitehall.
