Ryan Heckman

Steven "Ryan" Heckman ( born March 7, 1974 in Houston ) is a former American professional Nordic skier.

Heckman began in 1982 with the ski jumping and cross-country skiing after he had moved with his family to Winter Park. In 1991, he became the youngest so far Springer the U.S. championship title on the large hill. He was then taken to the national squad in 1992. At the Olympic Winter Games in Albertville in 1992 Heckman launched in singles and team competition. Together with Joe Holland and Tim Tetreault he succeeded in the team competition reaching the eighth square. In individual he came in at number 37 in 1993, he started for the first time in the World Cup Nordic Combined. In his first season in 1993/94 he reached the 26th place in the overall World Cup standings. At the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, he reached with the team the 7th Place and in the single 29 The following season 1994/95 was to be his most successful World Cup season. After several good finishes, including the 8th place in Vuokatti his best individual result in the World Cup, he reached the end of the season on the 14th place in the overall standings. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1995 in Thunder Bay, he missed the team with the 4th place medal ranks just barely. In early 1997, had reached the 9th place in the world rankings Heckman. His career ended shortly afterwards with the start at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1997 in Trondheim, where he again finished in 5th place in the team competition, together with Dave Jarrett, Tim Tetreault and Todd Lodwick.

After the end of his active career, he finished his studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. In 1998 he received his degree in business and economics, summa cum laude.
