Ryan Kavanaugh

Colin Ryan Kavanaugh ( born December 4, 1974) is an American film producer and entrepreneur. As founder of his production company Relativity Media he is also currently the company's CEO.

Life

After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara Ryan Kavanaugh attended from 1997 to UCLA. Since he had worked during his studies again and again in the stock market, including for Dean Witter Reynolds, a New York brokerage company with branch office in San Francisco, but he abandoned his studies afterwards and founded with some fellow students a hedge fund. This was so successful that he became a multi-millionaire. Only after the dot-com bubble and after the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001 and the related stock market crash, he lost everything again and had to move in with his parents again.

As the economy recovered and again was money in circulation, which was looking for investment opportunities, Kavanaugh was able to exploit its geographical proximity to Hollywood to bring together his old contacts with the film world. In 2004 he founded his own production company Relativity Media with which he produced such films as Zombieland, The Fighter and No Limit. Frequently Kavanaugh occurs only as executive producer and rarely as an actual film producer.

Ryan Kavanaugh is the son of a German doctor who speaks nine languages ​​, the pharmaceutical company Merck built and currently is chairman of a pharmaceutical company.
