Ryosuke Irie

Ryosuke Irie (Japanese入 江 陵 介, Ryosuke Irie, born January 24, 1990 in Osaka ) is a Japanese swimmer.

Career

Today's Student ( 2012) of the Kinki University began his swimming career during the middle school years. In 2005 he won the National high school championship in 200m backstroke. The following year he was able to beat the best time for high school students on this route. During a competition in Canberra in Australia, he swam the 200m backstroke in 1:52,86, marking a new Japanese record. Although he had with this record ( placed at the Olympic Games in Beijing) the world record of Ryan Lochte undercut by 1.08 seconds, the Fédération Internationale de Natation did not recognize him because he was wearing a non- approved flotation pants.

At the 2012 Olympic Games in London Irie won three medals: About 100 meters back, he was third in 52.97 seconds, 200m backstroke, he was second in 1:53,78 minutes and with the Japanese medley relay, he won the silver medal.
