Ryuji Umeda (Japanese梅田 竜 二, Umeda Ryuji; born October 22, 1968 in the prefecture of Tokyo), often Ryuuji Umeda, is a professional Japanese Carambolagespieler and world champion.

Career

After Nobuaki Kobayashi Umeda is one of the most successful Japanese billiard players in the three-band. At the Asian Games in Bangkok in 1998, he won silver in 2006 in Doha then gold. A year later he was in Cuenca, Ecuador, world champion in the individual competition. In Finale Umeda Daniel Sánchez from Spain defeated with 3:2 ( 6:15, 15:9, 4:15, 15:7, 15:12 ). It was after 23 years of the second Japanese single world champion Kobayashi (1974 & 1984).

Umeda is the owner of one of the largest billiard centers in Tokyo and was the organizer of the three-band Women's World Cup in 2012.

In March 2013 he won with 14 match points 8 Yamani Cup in Tokyo, before Daniel Sánchez (2nd place, 13 points) and Torbjörn Blomdahl (3rd place, 12 points). At the 4th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in July he won in the final against the Vietnamese Nguyen Quoc Nguyen on a tight victory 40:39 the gold medal. Earned the maximum series in the three-band of 9 at the games.
