S. Pierre Yameogo

Saint- Pierre Yaméogo ( born May 15, 1955 in Koudougou, Upper Volta, now Burkina Faso ) is a film director and producer from the West African nation of Burkina Faso.

In 1978 he went to study in Paris, where he lives at times today. His film Delwende got at Cannes Film Festival 2005 prix de l' espoir. The film is about the women in Burkina Faso, who were accused in their home villages as Sorceresses and therefore had to flee. Yaméogo would like to inform in his films and reflect reality. In addition, Yaméogo operated as a producer and a documentary filmmaker. His films have been broadcast among other TV5MONDE and ZDF.
