Saanika ( German Saniko ) is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Ridala ( Ridala vald ) in Lääne in Estonia.
Population and location
The village has 21 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It is located eight kilometers south-east of the district capital of Haapsalu.
Sons and daughters of the town
Saanika is the birthplace of plant researcher Jaan Spuhl - Rotalia (1859-1916), the composer Cyrillus Kreek (1889-1962) and the botanist Siimon Aleksander ( 1900-1970 ).
