Sabine Bothe

Sabine Bothe, born Picken, Est Adamik, ( born July 8, 1960 in Havel mountain ) is a former German handball goalkeeper.

In Havelberg she did gymnastics first, then switched to athletics (jump and javelin ). In 1968, she began the training center Handball in Havelberg as construction player with the handball. In 1974, she joined as a field player for SC Magdeburg, where she was soon used as a goalkeeper.

With the women's national handball team of the GDR it was 1982 and 1986 respectively fourth at the World Championships and stood since 1990 also in the squad of the German national team: In the 1993 World Championships, she won with the team the world championship title, at the European Championships in 1994 she won the silver medal. She denied 236 international matches, in which they threw two goals.

She studied in Magdeburg sports and geography. She is married to his second wife and has a son (* 1989). In 1984 she was awarded in the GDR with the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.
