Sabon

Sabon is the name of a font that was designed in 1967 by Jan Tschichold for the type foundry Linotype, Monotype, and Stempel.

Features

The design of Sabon fonts is to be regarded as a variation of the Garamond fonts, with emphasis on clearer typeface and thus better readability.

The Sabon font family includes the "classical" four typefaces: Sabon Roman, Italic Sabon, Sabon Sabon Bold, and Bold Italic. The Sabon fonts are serif fonts.

In 2002 the French type designer Jean François Porchez completed the work on a new interpretation of the original Sabon Linotype. The new font family was released as Sabon Next and clearly includes more fonts than the first edition of the Sabon: total, the Sabon Next family of six typefaces ( Sabon Next Display, Roman, Demi, Bold, Extra Bold and Black). Among these, there are respective corresponding italic cuts. Finally, there is an ornament font with different flowers characters. There are also small caps and old style figures associated cuts.
