Sacha Pitoëff

Sacha Pitoëff ( born March 11, 1920 in Geneva, Switzerland, † July 21, 1990 in Paris) was a French director and actor.

Life

Sacha Pitoëff, son of the legendary theater couple Georges and Ludmilla Pitoëff, is known as an actor mainly by Alain Resnais's film Last Year at Marienbad. Other film credits are The price and Is Paris Burning? .

As a theater director he was in France as an institution, especially with the productions of plays by the authors Luigi Pirandello, and Anton Chekhov. He occupied at the Théâtre Moderne next wife Luce Garcia -Ville Romy Schneider ( "The Seagull" ) and Claude Jade ( " Henry IV ").
