Sachsen-Tour

The Sachsen-Tour International is a bicycle race that has been held annually in the Free State of Saxony. The stage race was the last part of the UCI Europe Tour (Category 2.1 ) and the new German Championship (TUI Cup). The Sachsen-Tour took place in July, in parallel with the Tour de France, and was organized in 1985 for the first time held. The five-day race covers also means mountain stages of the Erzgebirge region. Record winner Jörn Reuss, Uwe Ampler and Thomas Liese with two overall wins.

In April 2010 it was announced that the race will turn out this year because of the withdrawal of the main sponsor. Also in 2011 did not take place, Sachsen Tour. In 2012, the new edition of the cycling race was scheduled from July 18 to July 22, 2012 was canceled without explanation.
