The Saxon newspaper is published since 1946 in the east of Saxony newspaper. History
On 13 April 1946, the Saxon newspaper arose from the merger of the Saxon people newspaper of the Communist Party and the People's Voice of the SPD. In 1890 appeared the first time the Saxon Arbeiterzeitung ( SAZ ), later renamed Dresdner People's Daily.
In GDR times daily appeared 513 800 copies of the Saxon newspaper with approximately one million readers. They then acted as an organ of the SED district leadership Dresden.
